Ventilator patients increased 6 times in 7 days
If we look at the figures of the Delhi government, on January 3, there were 7 patients on ventilator but on January 9, there were 44 patients. That is, there is a 6 fold increase in 7 days. There were 124 patients on oxygen support on January 3 but now there are 440. These include those patients who are on ventilators. There has been a 6-fold increase in active cases. A week ago there were 10,986 active cases but till January 9, active cases reached 60,733. Daily recovery is decreasing and new cases are coming more. There is also an increase of 5 times in new cases in Delhi. The daily new cases in the national capital have reached from four thousand to 22 thousand and are only expected to increase. It is estimated that by the end of this month new cases may start coming down.
Till now not much hospitalization was being seen from Omicron. If we look at the data of the previous wave and this wave, then this time there is relief. Most of the patients are recovering in home isolation. It is necessary to go to the hospital only if the fever persists after three to four days, symptoms increase instead of subside, difficulty in breathing, oxygen level is falling below 94, mental confusion or discomfort is increasing .

These numbers are scary
However, if we look at the infection rate of Delhi, there is an increase of about three and a half percent in it. The infection rate has gone up from 6.46 to 23.53 in 7 days. According to Sunday’s data, 23 people are being found infected after doing 100 tests, while in late November and early December, only one or not a single one was found infected. Containment zones are also increasing. Between January 3 and January 9, there is an increase of about 5 and a half times. There were 2,008 containment zones on 3 January which has increased to 11,487 on 9 January. Experts say that this wave of Omicron is not causing much damage compared to the previous wave caused by Delta, but this does not mean that Omicron should be taken lightly.
