Vice Chancellor of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi addressed the journalists in the 'One Year Innovation 2023-2024' press conference on completion of one year of his tenure as Vice Chancellor of the University on May 2, 2024. While meeting the journalists in the committee room of the Vice-Chancellor's office of the University, the Vice-Chancellor presented the account of the achievements of the University in the last one year and along with the upcoming plans, also gave details of the courses proposed to be started in the University from this year.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnai said on this occasion that a university is established one day, but the journey of becoming a real university takes years and decades. Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, established in the name of Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj in Hisar, is a university which has quickly made its mark. This university has been continuously touching new dimensions since its inception. Year after year this university is achieving new achievements and strengthening its identity at national and international level.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi said that if the last one year is being called the golden period of the university, then it is the result of the positive thinking and hard work of the entire university family. He said that he spent 25 years of his life as a teacher here before becoming the Vice Chancellor. Saw the university transform from a semi-desert campus to a lush green and picturesque campus.
He said that it was his good fortune that he got the opportunity to serve as the Vice Chancellor of Guruji's University on this very day, a year ago. During this tenure of one year, he got full support from the teachers, non-teaching staff, students and researchers of the university.
The Vice Chancellor said that this was the reason why the university was able to achieve so many achievements in just one year. He dedicated these achievements of one year to the entire university family and expected everyone to work in the same manner, but with more energy, in the future also. During this time, he has tried to spend maximum time in the university among everyone and continuously work for the progress and development of the university. Such work will continue to be done in future also. He expressed confidence that soon this university will set new parameters of development.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi said that in the last one year the university has further accelerated its development journey. The process of setting up an Idea and Innovation Lab with Rs 6.5 crore is going on in the university. The university has increased the fellowship of research scholars to Rs 15,000 per month. Also, this fellowship is now being given to two researchers instead of one per department. The contingency of research scholars has also been increased to Rs 5,000. Apart from this, a new scholarship in the name of Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj has been started for needy students at the rate of ten thousand rupees per year.
The university has also started the process of setting up a medical college. It is expected that soon this college will be established in the university. The International Wing of Hostel Number 4 of the University has been inaugurated by the Honorable Governor of Haryana and Honorable Chancellor of the University, Bandaru Dattatreya.
Three new hostel buildings, expansion of residential complex, extension building of Haryana School of Business, Mechanical Engineering Department and multipurpose hall will be constructed in the university at a cost of Rs 118 crore. A patent cell has been established in the university to promote research and invention. The portal of Informatics and Grievance Cell has also been established for timely resolution of any type of complaint in the university. University Grants Commission has received Category-2 autonomy from the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Under this autonomy, the university can start new courses at its own level.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi said that the university has further strengthened its identity at the national and international level in the session 2023-24. In The Times Higher Education World Ranking 2024, the university has received 801 to 1000 rank in the engineering category, 1201 to 1500 rank in the university category, and 1001 plus rank in the physical education category. In the ranking released by Global University Ranking (London), the university has been ranked first in Haryana and 26th in the country. In this ranking, the university has been given 1045th rank globally, A grade and gold band. In this ranking, the university was ranked 351-400 in the Young University Ranking by The Times Higher Education. It has been ranked 401-500 in the Emerging Economies ranking.
In the UI Green Metric World University Rankings released by Jakarta Indonesia, the University was ranked 16th in India in the World Most Sustainable University category, while the University was ranked 409th in the world.
Research Publications and H-Index
The Vice Chancellor informed that the number of Scopus publications of the University was 3,793 as of May 01, 2023, which increased from 511 to 4,304 by April 29, 2024. During this period, the H-index of the university has also increased by 10 points from 112 to 122. Average paper citations increased by 1.18, from 19.98 to 21.16. The number of Scopus citations increased by 15,270 over this period, from 75,803 to 91,073.

The Vice Chancellor informed that the University will create four new departments in the session 2023-24.

Other achievements of the university
The university has given financial assistance of Rs 3,17,500 to 38 needy students in the last session. For the first time, the university has given so much financial assistance to the students. For the first time, the University divided the University Youth Festival into two zones. The university's women's football team won the bronze medal in the Khelo India University Games 2023.
