I used to call my girlfriend and cry everyday – Ishant Sharma
Indian team’s experienced bowler Ishant Sharma has considered the 2013 Mohali match as the lowest moment of his career. He told how he used to call his girlfriend (current wife) continuously after that match and cry. Ishant Sharma said, ‘The worst phase of my career was the ODI match against Australia in Mohali in 2013.
He said, ‘What hurts me the most is that I was the reason for the team’s defeat in that match. I was dating my wife at that time. I talked to him and I think I cried for a month at that point. I used to call her (wife) every day and cry and say that the team lost because of me.
Ishant Sharma’s international career has been like this
34-year-old Ishant Sharma has played a total of 105 Tests, 80 ODIs and 14 T20 matches for India so far. In which he has taken 311, 115 and 8 wickets respectively. Ishant has truly left his mark in Test cricket. However, in 2021, he was also dropped from the Test team. After which he has not been able to return to the Indian Test team till now. However, Ishant is one of the 13 players to have played 100 or more Test matches for India.
