Chennai: When bad times come, then good batsmen or bowlers keep getting out in any way or even get beaten on good balls. Talking about the batsmen, till a year ago Virat Kohli was losing wickets in every possible way in his bad phase. Something similar is happening with the captain of Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma, who is not getting runs from his bat. Also, in the second consecutive match, he got out without opening the account and took the record in his name.
Mumbai Indians came out to bat first against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk Stadium on Saturday 6th May and surprising everyone, Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma himself left the opening and fielded Cameron Green. Rohit was continuously failing and hence this step was taken but this decision also did not work and both the batsmen were dismissed early.
Rohit on the ‘peak’ of zero
After Green’s dismissal, everyone once again had hopes of a comeback from Rohit, who came at number three, but these hopes were dashed again. In the last match against Punjab Kings, Rohit was dismissed for zero within three balls in the first over. This time also the story did not change. In the third over against Chennai, Rohit was dismissed without opening the account after playing just three balls.
With this, an unwanted record of being dismissed for 0 for the most number of times in the IPL was recorded in his name. Not only this, he has also become the captain who has been dismissed for the most number of times in the IPL. Rohit got out on zero for the 11th time as captain. He left behind Gautam Gambhir (10).

Rohit will curse himself on such a shot
That is, he has not been able to score a single run after playing 6 balls in 2 consecutive innings. Against Punjab, he went to play a big shot on the third ball and was caught out at deep covers. Seeing the way he got out against Chennai, he himself would hold his head. On Chahar’s ball, Rohit went to play a scoop shot behind the wicket, but the ball hit his bat, gloves and then helmet and went as an easy catch in the hands of the point fielder.
flop rohit in powerplay
This season has not been good at all for the captain of Mumbai. So far only 184 runs have come out of his bat in 10 innings. His average is only 18.4 and the strike rate is also 126. Only one half-century has come from Rohit’s bat. In these 10 innings, Rohit has been dismissed inside the powerplay 8 times. He has scored only 138 runs in the powerplay, with a strike rate of 127.
