Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his three-nation tour on Monday Australia have arrived. He will stay here till May 24 and will participate in many programmes. PM Narendra Modi Australian Prime Minister here Anthony Albanese will also meet and between India-Australia Bilateral talks will be held on relations. PM Modi has said during an interview in Australia that the Indo-Pacific region is facing many challenges.
The PM said that climate change, terrorism, security of sea lanes, communication and piracy. Enumerating these problems, the PM said that they can be tackled only through shared effort. In an interview given to ‘The Australian’ newspaper here, PM Modi said that he wants to improve India’s relations with Australia. Which includes defense and security relations so that the Indo-Pacific region can be completely open and free.

While giving an interview to the newspaper, PM Modi said that he is not the kind of person who gets satisfied soon. They have seen that Australian PM Albanese is also like this. He said that he is confident that when both of them meet again in Sydney, they will have many opportunities to take the relations between the two countries to the next level. Both countries can expand mutual relations during this period.
PM Modi said that he wants both the countries to work more closely with each other on defense and security. With this, both the countries will realize the power generated through cooperation. PM Modi also said that India and Australia are two big democracies. Both countries share free open and inclusive interests in the Indo-Pacific region. The viewpoints of both countries have the same alignment.
No criticism of Russia, yet relations will remain the same
PM Modi said that the trust between the two countries has turned into greater cooperation in security matters. The armies of both the countries are participating in joint military exercises. He said that despite India’s refusal to criticize Russia, there would be no impact on the relations between the two countries. Although Australia has been critical of Russia’s war with Ukraine from the beginning. PM Modi said that being a good friend, India and Australia can talk openly and encourage each other. PM Modi said that Australia understands India’s position and hence it will not spoil the relations between the two countries.
