Islamabad: A 6.5 magnitude earthquake has been recorded in Pakistan on Thursday morning. This information has been given by the Meteorological Department of the country. The epicenter of this earthquake was on the Xinjiang-Tajikistan border and it was felt within a radius of 80 km. At present, there is no information about loss of life or property due to this earthquake. It has also been felt in some parts of Balochistan. There was an earthquake in Pakistan about three weeks back as well and that too was of similar intensity.

It has been said by the China Earthquake Network Center (CENC) that Tajikistan was shaken by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Thursday, local time of China. The place where the earthquake took place in Tajikistan is a completely deserted area with very less population. Just a week before the devastating earthquake on the Turkey-Syria border i.e. on January 29, there was a 6.3 magnitude earthquake in Pakistan. The epicenter of that earthquake was also Tajikistan.
Strong tremors of the earthquake were felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and other parts of the country. But there was no news of any casualty or damage to property. In the year 2005, the most devastating earthquake ever occurred in Pakistan. More than 74,000 people died in that earthquake.
