Dawood’s close aide Salim Iqbal Qureshi alias Salim Fruit and his family had left the airport without any entry and passport stamps. Salim Fruit and his wife had gone to Karachi to attend the wedding of Dawood’s brother-in-law Chhota Shakeel’s daughters. This was disclosed by Salim’s wife Shazia during her interrogation with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India. According to Shazia, the entire family including the children had gone to Pakistan illegally via Dubai.

According to Shazia, the family had reached Pakistan illegally three times. The family visited Pakistan for the first time in 2013 on the occasion of Shakeel’s daughter Zoya’s engagement. After this, in March 2014, at the wedding of Shakeel’s younger daughter Anam, and again in September 2014, he went to Pakistan. This time the occasion was of Zoya’s marriage. Shazia said that on March 24, 2014, she had reached Karachi by a Pakistan Airlines flight. Here some people were sent by Chhota Shakeel to pick them up. They all came out at Karachi airport without getting their passports stamped. From here went to Shakeel’s house and then attended the engagement function.

Shazia claims that Shakeel himself arranged the trip. Also, return tickets were also booked via UAE. All of them stayed at Chhota Shakeel’s house in Karachi for five to six days. After this the person who had come to pick him up, the same person also came to drop him at Karachi airport. Again without the stamp he entered the airport. No one asked him anything and there was no proof of entry and exit on the passport. Shazia and her children returned to India via UAE.

Shazia has claimed that she first went to Pakistan in the year 2013 and again in March 2014. Salim was not with her at that time and she traveled alone with three children. When Salim Fruit went to Pakistan and stayed there for two days. Apart from this, if Dawood’s nephew is to be believed, Don is currently living near Abdullah Ghazi Baba Dargah in Karachi.
