If you want to use this feature then you need to have a Unified Payment Interface (UPI) account, from which you can transfer money from bank to bank using WhatsApp Payments. UPI is a national payment system developed by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) and supports various banks in the country.
WhatsApp uses the phone number associated with your account to identify your bank details. Let us tell you that your UPI PIN is a 4 or 6 digit number which you need to enter before making all payments. All the payments you make are secured by your personal UPI PIN, so it is not necessary to share your UPI PIN with anyone. If you have UPI PIN of bank account then you do not need to create new UPI PIN in WhatsApp.
However, if you do not remember your UPI PIN, you also have the option to change or create a new one. Here we are telling you the process of creating a new PIN, for which follow these steps:
For Android users:
- First of all, you have to open WhatsApp on your phone and then tap on More options.
- Tap on Payments and then select Bank Account.
- Now you have to tap on Change UPI PIN or Forget UPI PIN.
- If you select Forget UPI PIN, then tap on Continue.
- Then you have to enter the last 6 digits of the debit card number and then enter the expiry date.
- It needs to be noted here that some banks may ask you to enter the CVV number as well.
- If you select Change UPI PIN then you need to enter existing UPI PIN.
- After that, you have to enter the new UPI PIN and confirm the new UPI PIN again.
For iPhone users:
- Open WhatsApp account on your iPhone.
- Now tap on Bank Account then select Change UPI PIN or Forget UPI PIN.
- If you have selected Forget UPI PIN, then enter the last 6 digits of the Debit Card number and the expiry date.
- When you select Change UPI PIN, select your existing UPI PIN.
- Enter the new UPI PIN and confirm the new PIN.
