This agreement was made between the government and the doctors on Right to Health
Mainly there was an agreement between the government and the doctors on 5 points. The most important point among these is that only those hospitals which get government assistance will come under the purview of the Two Health Act. Those hospitals which do not take government assistance will remain outside the purview of this law. The law will not apply to big private hospitals which are not receiving government aid. The government will take a final decision about this later. It has been agreed to implement a single window system for redressal of complaints. Also, in cases of dispute, the police will not directly file cases against the doctors. Private hospitals will now have to take fire NOC once in 5 years instead of every year. After discussing these points, the doctor agreed to return to work.
Doctors’ strike is going on since March 19
The state government had passed the Right to Health Bill in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on 21 March. Earlier, from March 19, the doctors had gone on strike. The doctors of the private hospital had closed the hospital while on strike. A big rally of doctors was organized in Jaipur in which thousands of doctors from all over the state participated. Government doctors also came down in support of private hospital operators. On March 29, the serving doctors were on a day’s mass leave. Resident doctors also boycotted work in support of private hospital operators. Now after making an agreement with the government, the medical system will be back on track.
