Video of Minister Suresh Khanna singing a song in an election meeting to ensure his victory for the ninth time from Shahjahanpur seat is doing the rounds on social media these days. Khanna in the movie ‘Jagruti’, written by poet Pradeep and sung by Mohammad Rafi, on the lines of ‘Hum Laye Hai Toofan Se Kashti Nikal Ke’, ‘Keep this area my friends handle, we have brought UP out of crime,’ Don’t let development deceive anyone… Keep this area safe my friends. You are the future, mere UP Vishal Ke is being heard singing.
District Co-operative Bank Shahjahanpur President and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader DPS Rathore said, “Khanna has already performed this type of protest from various platforms of the BJP. The song he is singing during the campaign is a desh bhakti song and through this he is expressing his concern not only about his patriotism but also about the security and future of the region.
Yogi’s ministers are frying puris
Law Minister Brajesh Pathak along with his team of supporters campaigned door-to-door in busy areas of the state capital and started frying puris at Narhi in Lucknow. Pathak also operated a sewing machine at a tailor’s shop. Although Pathak did not call this a new thing, but his efforts aroused curiosity among the people.
Pathak said, ‘This is my area and I have been roaming for the last five years, I had gone to seek blessings of people who are beneficiaries of various schemes of the government.’ Brajesh Pathak had won the election in 2017 from the Central Zone of Lucknow and this time he is a BJP candidate from Lucknow Cantt.
Congress candidate Banwari Lal said – ‘Vote or Shroud’
Congress candidate from Mau’s Muhammadabad Gohna, Banwari Lal is demanding ‘Vote or Shroud’ from voters this time. Banwari Lal (65) is distributing the paper with the same appeal and this time he calls his last election. The title of his appeal is ‘Main Banwari Bechara Last Mera Praise’. The Congress leader’s appeal read, ‘I have been among you all for 30 years and you all know my sorrow. My house was sold and my son left this world due to a heart attack after I lost my election. My wife could not bear this sorrow and she lost her mental balance. Banwari Lal, while discussing his sorrows, appealed to the people of the whole society to vote and said that ‘vote me or give me the shroud’.
