In July 2020, when former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot showed the attitude of rebellion. Even during that time, Ashok Gehlot, showing political acumen, supported the MLAs of the Communist Party of India and BTP, including independent legislators. During the 34-day long bandh, the BTP MLAs had given written support to Gehlot. In the last Rajya Sabha elections, the CPI(M) had instructed both its MLAs not to vote. Despite this, Balwan Poonia had voted in favor of the Congress candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections. After this the CPI(M) expelled Balwan Poonia from the party for a year.
Only 2 independents belong to BJP ideology, the rest 11 independents are of Congress ideology.
There are total 13 independent MLAs in Rajasthan. Of these, only two, Omprakash Hudla and Suresh Tank, are MLAs of BJP ideology. On not getting ticket from BJP, he rebelled and contested the election and won. Rest all 11 independent MLAs Sanyam Lodha, Rajkumar Sharma, Baljit Yadav, Ramila Khadia, Babulal Nagar, Kantilal Meena, Laxman Meena, Ramkesh Meena, Mahadev Singh Khandela, Khushveer Singh, Rajkumar Goud and Alok Beniwal are MLAs of Congress ideology. After not getting the party ticket, these MLAs contested the assembly elections as independents and won. After winning the election, along with these 11 MLAs, Omprakash Hudla and Suresh Tank also supported the Gehlot government. Because of this also, it does not seem that BJP will be able to get any of these MLAs in its favor in the Rajya Sabha elections.
Gehlot has given full freedom to MLAs to work
Ashok Gehlot has given full freedom to all the independent MLAs, BJP and Marxist Communist Party MLAs along with the MLAs of his party in the development work of the area. The annual budget expenditure amount of MLAs has also been doubled in the government recently. Recently, the government has also removed the ban on transfers of state employees. MLAs will now be able to transfer their loved ones to their desired places.
This vote bank is with Congress
Congress has 108 MLAs in Rajasthan. Lok Dal’s lone MLA Subhash Garg is included in the government and is also a minister. 13 Independents, 2 BTP and 1 CPI(M) (CPI(M) has 2 MLAs but probably Girdhari Lal Mahia will not vote as per party’s instructions) are with Congress. In such a situation, there are a total of 125 votes in support of Congress. A total of 123 (41+41+41) votes are needed for all the three Congress candidates to win. In such a situation, it is difficult for BJP-backed independent candidate Subhash Chandra to win the Rajya Sabha elections.

And this vote bank is with BJP
The BJP has 71 MLAs in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Ghanshyam Tiwari and supported candidate for Bharatiya Janata Party
A total of 82 (41+41) votes are needed for Subhash Chandra to win. After 41 votes were cast in support of Ghanshyam Tiwari, BJP is left with only 30 votes. Even if the votes of three RLP MLAs are considered in support of Subhash Chandra, the total number of votes remains 33. Despite this, 8 votes fall short in Chandra’s victory. Making a dent of 8 votes by BJP is not easy.
