Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist’s property attached in Kupwara
Seized the property of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorist Bashir Ahmad Peer in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. This terrorist was killed in Pakistan last month. The agency attached the property of Bashir Ahmad Peer, a resident of Babarpora area of Kralpora in North Kashmir district, as part of the crackdown against terrorists operating from Pakistan. NIA attached land of over 1.5 kanals (about 1000 yards) of Peer alias Imtiaz Alam. Pir, who allegedly handled the infiltration of terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir through the LoC, was declared a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) by the Center on October 4 last year for his role in terror activities. Peer participated in several online propaganda groups to unite ex-terrorists and other terrorists to give details of the activities of Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba and other terrorist organizations.
Hizbul terrorist’s property seized in Kashmir’s Sopore
The NIA on Friday attached the property of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Basit Reshi in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore city. The Ministry of Home Affairs recently declared Basit Reshi a designated terrorist in Pakistan under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) for his involvement in subversive activities and target killings. NIA attaches Basit Reshi’s property in Dangarpora area of Sopore city. The agency claims that Reshi planned and executed an attack on a police post at Tujar Sheriff near Sopore on August 18, 2015, in which a policeman and a civilian were killed.
The property of Zargar, the terrorist released in the Kandahar plane hijacking, was attached.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday attached the property of Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, the founder of the terrorist group Al-Umar Mujahideen, in Srinagar city of Jammu and Kashmir. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had declared Zargar a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Thereafter, NIA officials with the help of local police and CRPF attached the house of Al-Umar founder Zargar in Ganai locality of Nowhatta area of Srinagar city. Zargar was arrested on May 15, 1992 and later released in 1999 along with Jaish-e-Muhammad (KHIT) chief Masood Azhar and Sheikh Umar. Three of them were released in exchange for the release of the passengers of Indian Airlines flight IC-814 in 1999. The plane going to Kathmandu was hijacked and taken to Kandahar in Afghanistan. All three were exchanged at Kandahar, for the safe release of passengers and crew.
