Father Varghese himself took the decision
Varghese himself had taken the decision not to bury the body after death. He had told the people living with him while he was alive that everyone should respect Mother Earth. That’s why they don’t have to occupy six feet of land even after death. He did not want the wood to be used for his funeral.

As per the wishes of Father Varghese, it was decided to perform the last rites in the electric crematorium. Although everyone accepted his decision without any religious binding. Father Varghese was working in Indore for more than 30 years. He was working under the Universal Brotherhood Movement. He was a Catholic priest, he had no land of his own. There was no balance in his personal bank account.
Earth should be respected
He believed that the earth should be respected. It is the primary duty of man to protect his resources. The same thinking was regarding his wood, due to which even his cremation has not been done with wood. The last rites have been performed at Rambagh Muktidham’s electric crematorium at 5 pm on Tuesday.
The dead body was kept for the last visit in Red Church
Earlier, the body of Father Varghese was kept in the Red Church for the last darshan. Here after the prayer of Christianity, it was decided to offer prayer of all religions. This is the first time in Indore, an all-religion prayer meeting has been organized after the death of someone in Christianity.
organ donation was not possible
At the same time, Father Varghese had also talked about organ donation. The doctors said that one of his eyes was damaged. After the bypass, he had many types of infections. Organ donation was not possible after his death. He valued his life highly. They used to study books of other religions and follow great people of different fields.
