Jurmania village comes in Amarpatan district of Satna district. It is part of the assembly constituency of Ramkhelawan Patel, Minister of State in the state government. The people of this village have been waiting for the road for the last 20 years. When the elections come, the leaders who come to the village also make promises about it, but after the results are out, all the promises are thrown away. This time, as soon as the municipal elections are announced, he has announced boycott of votes.
The condition of the road in Jurmaniya village is such that people are unable to leave their homes only after the light rain of pre-monsoon. The roads are flooded due to the unpaved road. The condition of the roads is like this for the last 20 years. Till date no pucca road has been built in this village.
Roads are not the only problem of the people here. The people of the village are troubled by water during the rainy months and due to lack of water in the summer season. As soon as summer comes, the women of the village have to go to a faraway tap for drinking water. They carry water to drink on their heads or on their cycles. For this they have to work for hours. Despite all the announcements of the government, tap water has not reached this village yet.
Troubled by their problems, the people of Jurmania have pasted posters outside their homes with no road or no vote this time. Posters of leaders are not allowed to come to the village have also been put up in the entire village. The villagers have declared that they will not vote if the road is not built in the village.
