Pushkar Singh Dhami contested from his traditional assembly seat Khatima in the Uttarakhand Election 2022. But, Bhuvan Kapri of Congress defeated him. Since then there has been a threat to his chair. Even after winning 47 out of 70 seats, the BJP’s happiness was tarnished by the CM’s loss. Later, Kailash Gahatodi, who contested from Champawat on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket and won the seat, gave up his seat. Now when the result of the by-election to be held there will come on June 3, many things will become clear.
The notification for the assembly by-elections was issued on May 4. With this the enrollment process started. Nominations will be done by May 11. Names can be withdrawn till May 17. By-election votes will be cast in Champawat on May 31. The counting of votes for the by-election will be held on June 3. With the result, it will be decided whether the Dhami government will run in the state or whether the BJP will have to change its face once again.
