Army Jawan Honey-Trapped: Pradeep Kumar, an army soldier working in the highly sensitive regiment of the Indian Army, Jodhpur, has been arrested by the Intelligence Police. Pradeep was accused of sharing important tactical information to Pakistani intelligence agencies through social media. The jawan has been arrested after interrogation in Jaipur.

Director General of Police (Intelligence) Umesh Mishra said that the espionage activities of Pakistani intelligence agency in Rajasthan are continuously monitored by Rajasthan Intelligence. During this surveillance, it came to the notice that Pradeep Kumar, working in the highly sensitive regiment of the Indian Army, Jodhpur, is in constant contact with the PIO (Pakistani Intelligence Agency) through social media. On which continuous monitoring of the activities of the said army personnel was started by CID Intelligence Jaipur.
Custodial interrogation began on May 18
During monitoring, it came to the notice that Pradeep Kumar is in constant contact with the female agent through social media. Through social media, he is also sharing information of strategic importance with the woman. After this was confirmed, taking action against Pradeep Kumar, custodial interrogation was started after noon on May 18.
Joined the army 3 years ago, then posting in Jodhpur
On being interrogated by all the agencies at the Joint Inquiry Center, Jaipur, the 24-year-old accused explained everything in detail. He told that he is originally a resident of Krishnanagar, Gali No. 10 Police Station, Ganganahar, District, Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Joined the Indian Army 3 years ago. After training, the accused was posted to the post of Gunner. Since then, the accused was posted in the highly sensitive regiment, Jodhpur.
Trapped in the trap of Pakistani beauty
About 6-7 months ago, this woman’s call came on the mobile phone of the accused. After which both started talking to each other through chat and voice call and video call on WhatsApp. A pseudonymous woman introduced herself as a resident of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Also told himself to be posted in MNS in Bangalore. The said female agent started asking for photographs of confidential documents related to the army on the pretext of meeting the accused in Delhi and getting married.
WhatsApp started information from mobile
Trapped in the honeytrap, the jawan secretly took a photo of a confidential document related to the army from his office and started sending it to the female agent through WhatsApp. All the facts were corroborated in the actual verification of the phone of the accused. After which a case has been registered against the accused under the Official Secrets Act 1923 and arrested.
Started WhatsApp from Pakistan by taking OTP from the SIM of the jawan
The accused has also told during interrogation that at the behest of the said female friend, he also shared the mobile number of a SIM being used by his own and OTP for WhatsApp. That woman did this so that in this Indian number, Pakistani female agents could use other pseudonyms to make other people and army personnel their victims.
