Two ministers of the Rajasthan government will visit West Bengal to coordinate relief work in the Bikaner-Guwahati Express accident. This train, which left from Bikaner, became a victim of an accident in West Bengal on Thursday. Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have condoled the death of the passengers in the accident.
Chief Minister Gehlot also spoke to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Thursday night regarding this accident. Gehlot tweeted, “Talked to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav regarding the Bikaner-Guwahati Express accident in Jalpaiguri area (West Bengal). Discussions took place regarding relief and rescue operations at the spot.
Earlier, Governor Mishra and Chief Minister Gehlot prayed to give strength to the bereaved family members to bear this loss. He also wished speedy recovery to the injured.
According to railway officials, 12 coaches of the Bikaner-Guwahati Express derailed near Domohini in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district on Thursday, killing at least five people and injuring over 45. This train had left from Bikaner.
According to Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, due to this the route of two trains of the state has been changed. Under this, train number 15632, which will leave on Thursday, Guwahati – Barmer Express will now run on the converted route via New Cooch Behar – Matha Bhanga and Raninagar Jalpaiguri. At the same time, train number 15910, which left Lalgarh on January 11, Lalgarh-Dibrugarh Express will also run on the converted route via New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri Junction, New Mall Junction, Alipurduar and Samuktala Road Junction.
