The rubber ring that runs along the door of a front-load washing machine is called a gasket. This prevents water from seeping through the drum of the machine. Take a microfiber cloth and wipe the gasket to remove surface dirt. Dip a sponge in this solution by adding a few drops of dishwashing liquid to a bowl of lukewarm water and wipe the gasket.
clean the wash drum
Sprinkle a little baking soda on the inside of the wash drum. Add 1 cup of vinegar to the laundry detergent and start the wash cycle.
Clean the detergent dispenser panel
Remove the detergent tray and soak it in warm water for 30-40 minutes. Wash them thoroughly with dishwashing liquid.
Choose the Right Detergent
Choosing the right detergent is essential to extend the life of a washing machine. Choose one that is specifically designed for front-load washing machines.
Do not put wet clothes in the machine
Mildew grows rapidly in front load washers. Keeping wet clothes in the drum of the machine for hours also increases the risk of dye transfer.
remove odor from machine
To prevent washing machine odors, always remove your laundry after washing. Leave the door open for 15-20 minutes after washing. Also, wipe your gasket, drum and lid with a clean cotton cloth once in 2-3 days to prevent dirt and odor.
