Sri Lanka’s bankruptcy before Holi, India thrashed by 238 runs
Pant got the opportunity to bat in three innings in this series. During this he scored 185 runs. He scored these runs at an average of 61.67 and strike rate of 120.13. This included 23 fours and 6 sixes. He missed out on scoring a century in the Mohali Test. He played an innings of 96 runs. Pant completed his fifty in 28 balls in the second innings of the Bangalore Test. He also held the record for the fastest fifty for India.
Chasing 447 to win, the Sri Lankan team batted well in the opening session of the third day but faced the Indian bowlers on a pitch with turns and uneven bounce. Dimuth Karunaratne scored 107 runs for the Sri Lankan team, playing ahead of his yesterday’s score of 28 runs for one wicket. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 208 in the second innings after tea. Ashwin took 4 wickets for India.
