Mumbai . West Indies all-rounder and limited overs captain Kieron Pollard on Wednesday announced his retirement from international cricket, ending his 15-year-long career. Pollard was one of the deadliest batsmen in limited overs cricket. Pollard became the first player to represent the West Indies in over 100 T20Is, making his T20I debut against South Africa in April 2007 and his T20I debut against Australia at Bridgetown the following year. Overall, he played 123 ODIs and 101 T20Is for West Indies.
Pollard played some brilliant knocks in the match, leaving even fans watching his match wonder what kind of variation he could use in his stroke.

1. March 11, 2011: 94 runs in just 55 balls against Ireland in the ICC Cricket World Cup.
According to data compiled by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Pollard made his ODI debut in the 2007 World Cup, but did not make a mark in international events until four years later. But, he played a dangerous innings of 94 runs in just 55 balls in Mohali in a match with Devon Smith (107 off 133 balls). Pollard came to the crease after 32 overs at 130/3, but he and Smith shared an 88-run stand to help West Indies post a big total. Pollard was eventually dismissed in the final over, but not before he struck eight fours and five sixes to make his way onto everyone’s hearts.
2. December 11, 2011: Highest ODI score of 119 against India.
Pollard enjoyed playing in India and started the tour of the subcontinent in late 2011. However the tour did not go as planned for the Caribbean side. India won the match due to the batting of Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. India won the ODI series 4-1. But during the innings, Pollard remained stuck at the crease. He scored 119 runs. Pollard came when the team was four for 36. But he played the best innings while chasing the target of 276 runs given by India. Pollard, along with teammate all-rounder Andre Russell (53 runs in 42 balls), took the West Indies to victory. But in the end the team lost the match.
3. 23 March 2012: Innings of 102 runs in 70 balls against Australia.
Pollard was in excellent form and had to beat a strong Australian team during the Caribbean series in early 2012. He played an excellent partnership for the eighth wicket with Russell. Pollard scored 102 off 70 balls, but was eventually dismissed by Brett Lee. However, he took the team to 294 runs by scoring a century during this period.
4. October 5, 2012: In the 2012 T20 World Cup, Pollard completed both formats for the team in the semi-final against Australia.
West Indies won their first T20 World Cup title on 5 October 2012 and Pollard had already made a mark by then. He played a brilliant innings with Chris Gayle. However, he scored less runs but the batsman scored 38 runs in 13 balls, after which the team’s score reached 200. He contributed not only with batting but also with bowling.
