Pant broke 40-year-old record: Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh played a strong half-century and broke the 40-year-old record. He completed his fifty off 28 balls and became the batsman to score the shortest-ball fifty in Test cricket for India. He broke the Indian record of former India captain Kapil Dev (30 balls). Kapil made this record against Pakistan in Karachi in December 1982. Pant hit seven fours and two sixes in his innings. Apart from this, Pant also took the record of fastest half century by a wicketkeeper in Test cricket. Earlier this record was jointly held by England’s wicketkeeper Ian Smith and India’s MS Dhoni. Smith scored a 34-ball fifty against Pakistan in 1990, while Dhoni also scored a 34-ball fifty against the same opposition in 2006. Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq holds the record for hitting a half-century in the shortest ball in international cricket. Who achieved this position in 2014 against Australia in 21 balls.

Rohit looked in color and hit some catchy boundaries against the spinners by playing sweeps and reverse sweeps with confidence. However, trying to play a big shot off the off-spinner D’Silva, gave a simple catch to Angelo Mathews at long on the boundary.
