Pakistan defeated the West Indies (IND vs WI 3rd T20) by 7 wickets in the third test match to wipe out the visiting team 3-0 in the 3-match series. Batting first, West Indies scored 207 for 3 wickets. In reply, Pakistan team achieved the target at the loss of 3 wickets with 7 balls to spare.
Captain Babar Azam and wicket-keeper opener Mohammad Rizwan played an important role in this victory of Pakistan. Both of them got the team off to a blazing start by sharing 158 runs for the first wicket. This was their fourth 150 plus partnership in 2021.
This is the highest sixth century partnership of Babar and Rizwan in T20 Internationals. With this, the Pak pair surpassed the record of India’s opener Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who had scored five centuries so far.
Babar scored 79 runs in 53 balls which included 9 fours and 2 sixes. Rizwan scored 87 runs in 45 balls which included 10 fours and 3 sixes. This is Babar’s 20th Fifty Plus score in T20 cricket in a calendar year, the highest by any batsman in a single year.
The organization of this match was under threat after new cases of Covid-19 (COVID19) were found in the West Indies team, but in the end it was an exciting match. However, the three-match ODI series between the two teams has been postponed till June 2022.
Earlier, West Indies had scored 207 runs for 3 wickets. For him, captain Nicholas Pooran scored 64 runs in 37 balls with the help of two fours and six sixes. Apart from him, Shmarth Brooks contributed 49, Brendan King 43 and Darren Bravo contributed 34 not out.
