The first match of Day-Night Test history between Australia and New Zealand was played in 2015. That match was over in three days. Since then till today i.e. in these seven years a total of 19 Day-Night Tests were played, out of which two matches lasted for two days, seven matches for three days, four matches for four days and six matches for five days. The interesting thing is that all the matches have come out.

Team India played its first pink ball test against Bangladesh in November 2019. At the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, then Virat Kohli made his last international. India had won this match within three days. The second match was played on Australian soil. In 2021, the Kangaroos had won India for just 36 runs in three days. The third match was against England in February 2021 on Indian soil. India had won it in just two days.

Chasing 447 to win, the Sri Lankan team batted well in the opening session of the third day, but it was difficult for them to face the Indian bowlers on a pitch with turns and uneven bounce. Dimuth Karunaratne scored 107 runs for the Sri Lankan team, playing ahead of his yesterday’s score of 28 runs for one wicket. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 208 in the second innings after tea. Bumrah took three wickets for 23 runs. In the match, he managed to take eight wickets for 47 runs. He took five wickets in an innings on his soil for the first time. Ravichandran Ashwin took four, Axar Patel took two and Ravindra Jadeja took one.
