A new education policy has been brought by the Government of India in 2020. Under which many changes are taking place in the education system. In a way where CUET exam is being conducted for admission in graduation and post graduation courses. On the other hand, the draft National Curriculum Framework (NCF) has also given many suggestions regarding school education. In which it has been said that the written examination of the students of class 2 should not be taken. Because evaluation puts extra burden on the mind of the students. In such a situation, the written examination should be done from the third class itself. Along with this, it has also been suggested by the NCF that instead of 6 subjects, it can be made mandatory for the students of class 10th to pass 8 subjects. At the same time, there can be board paper twice in 12th. That is, semester method can be adopted. However, these rules have not yet been implemented. But it is believed that it will be implemented from the 2023-24 session. But before that the approval of the central government will also be received.
The draft states that evaluation up to class 2 should be done for recording and maintaining documentation. So that there is no extra burden on the children from evaluation. Assessment tools and processes should be designed such that they are a natural extension of the learning experience for the child”.
Let us tell you that with the implementation of the new education policy, the entire education system will change. This will also end the 10+2 system. Wherein, it will be divided into 5+3+3+4. The first five years will cover extension up to pre-primary. And for the next 3 years, class 1 and class 2 will be included. Whereas, the next phase will be from class 6 to class 8. Whereas classes 9 to 12 will be studied for four years. Graduation in higher education will be based on multiple exit system. That is, if a student takes admission in graduation and leaves in one year, he will be given a certificate, diploma in two years and degree in three years. But for admission in Ph.D one has to do 4 years of graduation.
