The total duration of MBBS course is 66 months. During the first 13 months—starting November 15, 2022, until December 15, 2023—students will be taught anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. For the next 13 months, i.e. from December 16, 2023 to January 15, 2025, students will have to study Pathology, Microbiology and Pharmacology. For the third year, which will be of 10.5 months, there will be lectures on Medicine and Toxicology and Community Medicine/PSM.
The fourth year will be the longest in terms of months, as it will be 17.5 months. During this period from December 2025 to May 2027, students will learn General Surgery, General Medicine, Pediatrics and Ob.Gy, ENT, Ophthalmology. Lastly, as per CRMI 2021 Regulations, candidates will have to complete one year internship starting from June 1, 2027 till May 31, 2028.

NMC has also issued several guidelines for medical colleges and universities while drafting the academic calendar. NMC has directed the universities to conduct supplementary examination with a gap of one month from the regular examination and declare the result within 15 days. Also, there will be no supplementary batch.
