Parents should encourage children for home drinks – dietician
Etawah I every child in the house demands to drink cold drinks as soon as summer starts and we give this easily available cold drink in the market to our children to drink. But the various carbonated cold drinks that come in the market are consumed by children This is to say of Dr. Shadab Alam, Pediatrician of the District Hospital.
Dr Alam told that no fruit juice or fruit is used in carbonated cold drinks. Phosphoric acid and carbon dioxide gas and caffeine are used in this. This does not bring any benefit to the body but only harm.
Dr Alam told that due to excessive consumption of cold drinks, children can also have many diseases such as obesity, deterioration of digestion, fatty liver, weakening of bones and teeth.
He told that children often insist on drinking cold drinks, so parents have to pay attention if they consume cold drinks, then make them in small quantities.
Dr Alam said that due to excessive consumption of cold drinks, the phosphoric acid in cold drinks reduces the level of calcium, which weakens the bones and teeth of children. Excess consumption of carbonated cold drinks also increases the secretion of cortisol hormone. Due to which the mental development and mental balance of the child is also affected.
Dr. Archana, dietician of the district hospital said that we are constantly seeing in our community that children are using cold drinks more, so parents should encourage children to consume home drinks. He said that instead of drinking cold drinks available in the market, children should try to give lemonade, syrup, bael juice, juice, shikanji, fruit cocktail, sugarcane juice, coconut water etc. He told that apart from cold drinks, packaged juices are also not very healthy, so children must be made to consume home drinks.
He told that carbonated cold drinks contain a lot of sugar, which we do not feel due to phosphoric acid, due to this excess sugar, not only affects the blood circulation of children, as well as children become victims of obesity.
Dr. Archana appealed to the residents of the district, the parents of the children who consume more cold drinks can also come to me for free counseling and can also get free advice from me regarding the diet table of the children.
