    Social Media: Now celebrities and influencers will not be able to fool, will have to hide information heavily

    New Delhi: The Central Government has given strict instructions to the advertising companies (Centre Releases Guidelines). Advertising companies can no longer hide any information on social media. The central government has said that the company will have to prominently display the information and claims or disclosures given in its ad. Till now companies show claims in the form of hashtags or links in their ads. In view of the interests of the consumers, the government has to show the information or claims given in the ad properly. The guidelines issued by the government say that the claims related to the advertisement should be shown in a way that is clear and easy to remember. These information should not be mixed with any link or hashtag. It should be shown in such a way that the audience can notice it.

    In these guidelines of the government (Centre Releases Guidelines), celebrities and influencers have also been asked to review themselves and see whether the company is in a position to prove the claims made in the advertisement or not. It is also expected that the Influencers have tried and tried the product they are showcasing. The central government has clearly said that product advertisements should not be such that they mislead the audience. It is important for celebrities, influencers to follow these guidelines to maintain transparency and authenticity with their audience.

    Celebrities and Influencers must disclose any relationships with advertisers that may affect the credibility of their representation. Disclosures should not be mixed with hashtags or links. In case of photo advertisement, both video and audio formats should be disclosed. An official statement said that the claims should be shown continuously in the live stream.
