Played for RCB and RR
In the opening season of IPL, Rahul Dravid was the captain of his home state Karnataka’s team Royal Challengers Bangalore. Showed strength for RCB in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Later, playing for Rajasthan Royals, the team also reached the final of the Champions League T20 in 2013. Later this year he also said goodbye to T20 cricket.
Such was the IPL career
Rahul Dravid played a total of 89 matches in his career. Rahul remained not out only five times in his career. Scored 2174 runs in total. Dravid’s average in IPL was 28.23. Dravid’s highest score in his IPL career was 75 runs. He faced a total of 1882 balls in his entire career. His strike rate was 115.52. During this he scored 11 half-centuries. Not a single century came off his bat. Dravid has hit 268 fours and 28 sixes in IPL.
Coaching career started again
Dravid began his professional coaching career in 2014 as a mentor to Rajasthan Royals, the team he had previously captained. He produced many young cricketers and in his first season as a team mentor, the Royals finished fifth in the points table, missing out on a playoff berth by the narrowest margin. The following season RR qualified for the playoffs and finished third after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator.
