Russia, which has provided India with state-of-the-art weapons for the last several decades, has now offered the technology of the world’s most modern tank T-14 Armata to India. Russia has made this big offer so that both the countries can develop new armored vehicles on its basis. Negotiations are also taking place between the two countries on making special equipment keeping in mind the needs of the Indian Army. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu were also involved in this conversation.
The Russian President had recently come to India and this conversation took place during this time. Russian official Valeria Reshetnikova said on Tuesday, ‘Indian partners have been offered new areas of work. This includes making armored vehicles based on the need of the Indian Army on the platform of Armata. Especially when the Indian Army is planning to intensify its work on making the new main battle tank. India is already using Russian made T-90 and T-72 tanks.
T-14 Armata tank can be operated with remote control
Russia first presented this new tank to the world in its Victory Day parade in the year 2015. Since then, Russia has been preparing to make its T-14 Armata tank and lethal. According to Russian media reports, the world’s most powerful tank Armata is now capable of firing shells at its targets without crew members. This is being linked to Russia’s preparations for the future war. The T-14 Armata tank has recently been tested through remote control. Its crew sitting far away in it has managed this tank very well with no remote control.
Due to the remote control, the crew of this tank will be safe out of range of hundreds of liters of fuel and tank shells. In fact, it is often seen that due to a short circuit or some carelessness, the fuel or explosives of the tank catches fire and the crew sitting inside the tanks has to bear the brunt. But, while operating this tank from a distance, neither anti-tank missiles of enemies nor any accident will pose any danger to these drivers.
How dangerous is the T-14 Armata tank
The T-14 Armata tank is the main battle tank (MBT) of the Russian Army. Running at a top speed of 80 kmph, the weight of this tank is about 55 tonnes. This tank was first produced in 2015. Since then, these tanks have been displayed several times in parades of the Russian army. Russia’s Armata is considered to be the next generation tank. This tank is equipped with a 125 mm smoothbore cannon, which is capable of firing at the rate of 10 to 12 rounds per minute. Anti-aircraft missiles can also be fired from this tank, which is capable of shooting down enemy low flying objects such as helicopters or small drones. So far only 20 units of this tank have been made. However, the Russian army is also using its updated version T-15 Armata.
