World News: What laws are Sheikh Hasina going to bring for Hindus in Bangladesh, what is its political meaning

The violence that broke out in Bangladesh since the time of Durga Puja is not taking its name to stop. Whatever has happened to the Hindus in Bangladesh in the past, has sparked a new debate on the protection of minorities in the country. In this, there is a large group of fundamentalists on one side and on the other hand there is the government of Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh. Hasina government is giving full assurance of the safety of minorities. After the Hindu minorities, the government has woken up and after the attack, the Bangladesh government is going to make a law. The government believes that this will ease the legal process for the protection of Hindu minorities. So let us tell you what is this new law?

According to the law, if someone misbehaves with the witnesses, then it will also be considered an offense and there will be a provision for action against those who do so. The law also provides for maintaining the confidentiality of witnesses. The reasoning behind this law is that the Supreme Court of the country had in the year 2015 directed the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Law Ministry to take initiatives to secure the security of witnesses.

In fact, the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh is of the view that in many cases of incidents of attacks on minority communities, decisions are not made. The main reason for this is the lack of witnesses. The government says that due to lack of witnesses, the trial is not completed. So the government is going to enact a new law to ensure the protection of witnesses.

At the same time, experts believe that the purpose of this law is more to worship Hindu voters and there is less concern about security. The Hasina government wants to indicate through this law that it is not only concerned about the minority Hindus, but is also trying to solve them.

Let us inform that earlier Bangladesh’s Information Minister had announced that the country would become secular, he had said that the 1972 constitution framed by the Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman would return to the country. After India’s tireless efforts, Bangladesh became independent, so Mujeeb ur Rahman envisioned a secular country under the influence of India. He had abandoned the idea of an Islamic nation.
