The eyes of the whole world are fixed in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. Veteran leaders from all over the world have arrived here to take forward the campaign of environmental protection. If we talk about the whole event and its upcoming result, then it will have to go back a bit. In 1972, the first environmental conference was organized in Stockholm by the United Nations for environmental consciousness and environmental movement. The main objective of that conference was to focus on controlling environmental degradation, climate change and disasters.
Committee formed in 1983
In 1983, the United Nations constituted a committee under the chairmanship of the then Prime Minister of Norway. In 1987, a report titled ‘Our Common Future’ was published. It was clearly stated in this report that the current growth model is not going to be sustainable going forward. Keeping in mind the report released in 1983, the United Nations called a conference in 1989.

1992 conference in Rio de Janeiro
In 1992, the United Nations organized a conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The main objective of this conference was to discuss the reduction of greenhouse gas concentrations. After Rio de Janeiro, an episode of this conference was also held in Paris, which is known as the Paris Agreement. Many conditions were placed in front of the world regarding the control of temperature in the Paris Agreement.

flurry of conferences
In the year 2016, COP-22 was held in Marrakesh, followed by KOP-23 in 2017 in Bahn, Germany, in 2018 KOP-24 in Katowice, Poland. COP-26 was scheduled to be held in the year 2020, but it was postponed due to the Corona crisis. At this time the whole world is facing many big challenges. Among these, environmental degradation and climate change are the main issues.

For the time being, it is expected that the Paris Agreement did not progress at the expected level, similar to the summit in Glasgow. The leaders involved in this will also have to leave their selfishness and concern for the world, so that the earth can be saved.
