Year after year, we get to see such a strange thing in space, which we might have even imagined, it was a few months ago when scientists on the International Space Station saw a strange glow over Europe. White blue light was bursting. It looked like a dangerous explosion had occurred in the atmosphere over Europe. However, an astronaut present on the space station took pictures of the incident and told how this incident happened. Where did this light come from?
French Astronaut Thomas Peake, who was on the International Space Station, told that all the scientists of the space station were surprised to see this white-blue light. Because it was visible for a long time, sometimes more light was bursting. When the space station reached that place on the next trip, the light had dimmed but it took enough time to understand it.
Thomas tweeted this picture, Thomas explained that this is a Transient Luminous Event, that is, such light occurs when many lightning strikes in the Earth’s upper atmosphere. This is a very rare sight. Because in the upper atmosphere of the Earth, the occurrence of lightning and cracking is less visible.
Thomas told that this sight was also seen by the Columbus Laboratory of Europe. This laboratory is located on the ISS itself. It is designed to study the light that shines above the Earth. The fun was that when this light was rising over Europe, then the space station was coming out above the line of the equator. From where this view became more beautiful. An analysis of photographs taken by Thomas and data from the Columbus Laboratory revealed that the thunderstorm had formed over Earth’s upper atmosphere. Because of which the lightning kept chirping amongst themselves.
Thomas says that earlier when astronauts and pilots saw such light, they could not believe it. But gradually these rare sights began to be seen. Astronauts from around them and specials started passing on it, then they had to be trusted.
