US China Pacific Conflict: China is trying to disrupt communication in the Pacific region. China-sponsored hackers have tried to target the communication, IT systems of the US and Guam Military Post located in the Western Pacific Sea. Microsoft was the first to identify the hacking and it was confirmed by the US, UK and other allied countries. Microsoft told that hackers of the Chinese hacking group Volt Typhoon were trying to execute it.
Hackers have tried to target government, communication, manufacturing and even IT organizations. Especially the military posts located in America and Guam were attacked by hackers. Whom the hackers have targeted, it has not been disclosed yet. US Navy Secretary Carlos Dale told that the Navy has been affected by the intrusion of hackers. Experts say that Chinese hackers can still access sensitive US networks, where they also tried to infiltrate.

Fear of Chinese action on Taiwan
Microsoft says that such attempts have been made in the past as well. The disclosure of hacking is also important because there is a possibility of China taking action against Taiwan. Experts have been expressing apprehension earlier also that China may play such a trick before any aggressive action. This is not the first time that such hacking has been attempted by China. America has already accused China of espionage. Not only this, America has also been alleging theft of important documents through hacking.
Chinese hackers tried to infiltrate earlier also
Chinese hackers have a long record of such antics. These include the data breach of the Office of Personnel Management in 2015 and the hacking of Equifax in 2017. It is not clear why America and its allies are making such allegations against China right now. On this, Mandiant Intelligence, a subsidiary of Google, believed that this could be part of the preparations to employ private hacking companies before a possible Chinese action on Taiwan.
