Russia’s claim – full respect to the soldiers who surrendered
Russia has claimed that Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has ordered the creation of corridors for the safe evacuation of surrendered Ukrainian soldiers from war zones. In addition the Russian military has been instructed to treat them with respect. He has asked Russian troops not to attack Ukrainian cities. However, these claims of Russia could not be independently verified. At the same time, Ukraine has claimed that more than 70 civilians have died in the Russian attack. America has also blamed Russia for the death of common people. At the same time, Russia claims that its soldiers are targeting only military bases.
Claimed not to attack Ukrainian cities
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, at least 14 Ukrainian soldiers have already surrendered since Russian forces and rebel forces launched operations from the DPR and LPR. The statement said that military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, unlike the nationalists, took oaths to the Ukrainian people and obeyed orders. They have been treated with full respect. However, international media reporting has also been limited due to its own battlefield compulsions.
What will Putin’s next move be?
Vladimir Putin announced this morning that the Russian military was assisting the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics through special operations. The intention behind this is to completely liberate Donetsk and Lugansk from Ukrainian occupation. Prior to today, 70 percent of these two areas were occupied by the Ukrainian army. Apart from this, Putin’s second motive is also to change power in Ukraine. Putin himself has said that he is not going to stop now. The West-backed government in Ukraine is doing its best to become part of NATO and the European Union. Russia wants its interests to be protected by forming a Moscow-backed government.
