Popular New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman warned on Sunday that China could push the war between Russia and Ukraine into a ‘real world war’. Friedman said in an interview, ‘The first thing China would like is to prolong this war so that America remains trapped. And we are eliminating all our weapons and military stores. The American expert said that I believe that China would like Russia to become weak, which will make it economically dependent on Beijing. However, China does not want Russia to collapse.
‘If China joins the war, there will be a real world war’
Thomas Friedman said, ‘If Western countries succeed in bending Russia, it is a very bad sign for Taiwan. So I think the Chinese would be concerned about this. He said that if China joins this war, it will be a real world war. It will affect every global market and we are in an entirely new world. Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State has said that he has warned the Chinese Foreign Minister about helping Russia.
Blinken said that if China helps Russia in the Ukraine war, it will have to pay a ‘heavy price’. When asked for evidence about the help of China weapons, Blinken said, ‘China is trying to do it in two ways. Publicly China is trying to show that it wants peace in Ukraine but in private I have also said that it is giving non-lethal aid directly to Russia. He said that there are indications that China is now considering giving lethal aid to Russia.
