Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday that joint efforts are the only way to overcome Covid-19 and there is a need for equitable distribution of vaccines and intensifying vaccination campaigns around the world. In his special address on the topic ‘State of the World’ on the first day of the week-long online Davos Agenda Conference of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Jinping said that humanity will certainly move forward, but the world needs to defeat the pandemic together. .
He said, ‘The epidemic is dragging on. It affects health and the economy. Our motives will be affected by the thinking and accusations of beating each other. “We should remove barriers and not build walls,” he said, advocating for greater opening up of the global economy and greater cooperation. “Developed countries need responsible economic policies,” he said. Jinping also said that China will continue to open up its economy and is committed to economic and market reforms. The Chinese president also favored global regulations for the digital economy and the widespread sharing of information around the world.

Addressing the conference by video conference, Jinping said, ‘Great changes are happening in the world, which have never been seen in a century. How to defeat the epidemic and what kind of world to make after Covid is a matter of common concern for people all over the world. The corona virus first appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019. Due to this, more than 32 crore people have been infected worldwide and more than 55 lakh people have died.
