‘I thought the eardrum was torn’
A very loud and terrifying sound was created when the bomb fell. Then came the sound of breaking glass. A man came from behind the woman and pushed her towards the wall and defended her with his body. The explosion was so strong that the woman felt severe pain in one of her ears, she felt that her eardrum had been torn. But the woman could hear the screams of people from all sides, so her eardrums were fine. Due to the loud bang, a man hit the window and he fell to the ground. Pieces of broken glass were buried in his face.
The woman went into shock for two hours
An injured woman went up to the man and started removing glass from his face. Seeing this, Maria called out, ‘Don’t touch him, I will first bring my first aid kit for both of you.’ But his kit was inside the main building which had turned into rubble. Maria told the BBC, ‘I couldn’t do anything for two hours. I was in shock. Vladislav, 27, was also present at the theater that day.
‘I do not wanna die’
Some of Vladislav’s friends were staying in this bunker and he went to meet them. He was near the main gate when the blast happened. After the blast, he ran towards the basement along with the rest of the people and after 10 minutes he came to know that the building had caught fire and he was badly trapped. ‘Horrible things were happening that day,’ he said. He saw that a large number of people were injured and their wounds were bleeding. A mother was searching for her children in that rubble. A five-year-old was screaming that I don’t want to die. It was really heart-wrenching.
