The leaders of Pakistan are often in the headlines for their outright statements and commentary. Amidst all this, a former leader of Pakistan’s ruling party PTI has given a big statement on Imran Khan. This former leader is retired Justice Wajihuddin Ahmed. They say that Prime Minister Imran Khan was at one time completely obsessed with borrowing. He did not even have money to pay rent for his own house. Not only Wajihuddin but leaders of other opposition parties have also been saying that Jahangir Khan used to run Imran Khan’s house. He used to send them an amount of up to Rs 50 lakh every month.
In a TV program, Wajihuddin has said that “It is absolutely wrong to think that Imran Khan is an honest man. He has never run his own house in years. Initially people like Jehangir Tareen used to give 30 lakh rupees to run their house, then it happened that if 30 lakh rupees would not work then they started giving 50 lakh rupees there. Ek Hamara Saathi was in PTI, I would like to reiterate in his point that the person whose shoe laces are not even his own. How can he call himself honest?”
Jahangir Khan Tareen vehemently denied these allegations
While on one hand Wajihuddin has raised questions about the relationship between Imran Khan and Jahangir Khan Tareen, on the other hand Jahangir Khan himself has denied all these allegations. In his statement, Tareen said that “he never paid a single penny to run Imran Khan’s luxurious house in Bani Gala, Islamabad.” In one of his tweets, he wrote, “The truth needs to be told irrespective of the current state of my relationship with Imran Khan. I did whatever I could to help PTI in building a new Pakistan but never paid a single penny for Imran Khan’s household expenses.
In the midst of this rhetoric, Imran Khan’s political communications assistant Dr Shahbaz Gill has also issued a statement, he wrote in a tweet that “Whoever knows Imran Khan also knows his honesty and dignity. Wajih sahib often makes such illogical remarks in despair after being expelled from the party. For information, let us tell you that 5 years ago, Wajihuddin had to submit his resignation to the party on this matter because his relationship with Imran Khan was not going well.
