Kyiv/Moscow: A hopeful news has emerged on Sunday regarding the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. There have been encouraging gestures about the end of the war in the talks between the two countries. According to the news agency AFP report, both the countries have indicated that within a few days, positive results regarding the war may come out. The report said that Ukraine has claimed that it is ready to negotiate but is not ready to surrender or accept any ultimatum.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s party and adviser to President Zelensky, Mykhailo Podolyak, on Sunday made it clear that talks with Moscow will take place on Monday through video conferencing. He has given this information on his Twitter handle. His statement has also been confirmed by Russian Presidency spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Podolyak has written that through video conferencing, the conversation goes non-stop. Working groups are working continuously. There are some issues which need constant attention. He said talks would be held via video conference on Monday to reconcile the preliminary results.
Earlier, Podolyak said, ‘We will not agree in principle on any position. Russia understands this now. He has already started talking in a constructive way. He added, ‘I think we will really get some results in a few days.’ On the other hand, US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman has said that Russia is showing signs of willingness to engage in concrete talks about ending the ongoing conflict between the two countries.
RIA news agency quoted Russian representative Leonid Slutsky as saying that the talks between the two sides had made great progress. According to the agency, Leonid Slutsky said, ‘I think this progress in the talks can be better in the coming days.’ However, neither side has indicated what will be the extent of the agreement.
