People have started dying of starvation and poverty in North Korea, the country of dictator Kim Jong Un. They are not getting bread for June 2, due to which they are killing themselves. The cases of suicide are continuously increasing. Due to this, the dictator’s forehead has become crazy and he has clearly told the officials. Steps should be taken to control it. Kim’s officials themselves have given this information while talking to Radio Free Asia.
Officials say that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has ordered local authorities to ban suicides as the figures are skyrocketing. Exact figures are not known because Pyongyang’s data is shrouded in secrecy, but in May South Korean intelligence estimated that suicides in the country had increased by about 40 percent compared to the previous year.
In his order, Kim Jong Un has called suicide a treason. He says that he has issued a direct warning to the local government officials that if they do not stop people committing suicide in their area, then they will be responsible for it. Kim’s order was also mentioned in North Korean emergency meetings. Apart from this, the data of suicide cases was given. At the same time, examples were also given about why people are committing suicide.
Government is unable to control suicide
Kim’s official claimed that the people attending the meeting were shocked to know the suicide data. Another official of Ryanggang says that suicide is affecting people more than starvation. Despite the suicide-prevention policy, the authorities are failing to stop it. Most of the suicide cases have come to the fore due to extreme poverty and starvation. According to 2019 data from the World Health Organization (WHO), there were 8.2 suicides per 100,000 people in North Korea.
