Pakistan pauper, danger or good news for India?

Islamabad : The condition of neighboring country Pakistan is getting worse. The country’s foreign exchange reserves are shrinking. Inflation is at its peak and the country’s currency fell to 262 Pakistani rupees against the dollar on 27 January. The governments of Pakistan did not take any concrete steps to increase the source of revenue and made a firm strategy regarding tax. Pakistan’s revenue deficit from heavily subsidized electricity and selling South Asia’s cheapest petrol and diesel reached $25.31 billion in 2019, up from $2.25 billion in 2004. Imran Khan also played a big role in making Pakistan poor. Inflation in FY2018 was 3.93 per cent before Khan became the prime minister. In 2022 it reached 12.2 percent. Last year’s flood left no stone unturned.

The biggest question is that how will the poverty of the neighbor affect us? Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is asking for help from India in gestures. But India has not yet responded to this. If Pakistan is weak then it will not be able to carry out anti-Pakistan activities. But some researchers believe that if the country defaults, the burden of refugees on India may increase. Apart from this, the political collapse of Pakistan can also increase the courage of terrorist organizations, which is worrying for India. The condition of Pakistan and Sri Lanka is similar which China can take advantage of.
