Why did Sharif remember Jinnah
If Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz is to be believed, then every party will have to put aside their differences and come together on the Kashmir issue. It is surprising that people of his own party are leaving him on the economic issue. In Sharif’s words, ‘Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, had termed Kashmir as the country’s sore vein’. Sharif lamented that the society was divided and did not want to come together on this issue as well.
Told Kashmir as a jail
He believes that the unity of the political parties on this issue, their leadership and the Muzaffarabad Provincial Assembly would definitely trouble India. He says that when a society comes together on an issue, the enemy is bound to face trouble. Sharif said that 220 million Pakistani citizens and Kashmiri people have given a big message to the neighbor by celebrating Solidarity Day. PM Sharif repeated the same thing which was said by the army. Sharif said that India has been shedding blood of innocent Kashmiris for the last 75 years.
A decision of PM Modi
He also said that the entire valley has turned into an open prison since the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi revoked the special status of Kashmir in August 2019. Pakistan’s PM Sharif said that the government and people of Pakistan will continue to extend diplomatic, political and moral support to Kashmir and its people. Relations between India and Pakistan have deteriorated since 2019. First the Pulwama terror attack in February and then in August when the special status of Kashmir was removed, the tension increased only after that. Even today the relations between the two countries are tense.
