Imran Khan
The difficulties of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party chief and former Prime Minister Imran Khan do not seem to be reducing because the army has always been his target. On his arrest earlier this month, PTI workers had created a ruckus at the houses of army officers and set them on fire. The army was waiting for Imran to make such a mistake after which strict action could be taken against him.
The army has registered a case against Imran under section 59, 60 of the Pakistan Army Act. Since then, action has been taken against those involved in violent protests. A lot of arrests are happening. Now the PTI chief is also very scared about his arrest. In an interview, Khan Sahab has claimed that there is an 80 percent chance of his arrest on Tuesday.
More than 1000 supporters of Imran have been arrested
He says that more than 10,000 party workers have been arrested and most of his senior party leaders are in jails. Khan has warned his supporters not to indulge in violence if he is arrested again. In fact, the former prime minister was arrested on May 9 on charges of corruption in the Al-Qadir Trust case. However, after a few days, the Supreme Court ordered his release. The very next day he got bail from the Islamabad High Court.

Imran believes that the government is scared of the popularity of PTI as all the surveys have suggested that his party will win two-thirds majority in the coming general elections, hence the government wants to crush PTI. At the same time, he says that he has no problem with the army. The PTI chief reiterated that he knew that former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa was going to topple his government. If he wanted, he could have removed Bajwa from the post of army chief, but he did not want to interfere in the affairs of the army. Army is an institution which should not be interfered with.
