In the press conference conducted by the Ministry of Health, it was further told that “So far this variant has spread in total in 59 countries. Altogether 2936 cases have been reported. On November 24, the first case of this variant was reported in Goteng province of South Africa. It was declared as Variant of Concern by WHO on 26 November.

Recently, there are 59 such countries in the world where Omicron is spreading rapidly, but its biggest impact is being seen in the UK. There are currently 817 active cases affected by this variant in the UK. Denmark’s name comes in second place, with a total of 796 Omicron patients. The place from where this virus originated, ie 431 patients are active in South Africa. If we talk about different countries, there have been more than 78 cases in Canada, 71 in America, 65 in Germany, and more than 60 cases in South Korea. On the other hand, 52 cases are also active in Australia, 50 in Zimbabwe, 37 in Portugal, 36 in Netherlands, 33 in Norway, 33 in Ghana and 30 in Belgium.
