Pakistan’s policy level talks with the IMF were successful. But the staff level talks could not be completed in both the sides. The cabinet has decided that there will be an increase of Rs 7.91 per unit in electricity prices from February-March 2023, March-May 2023, June-August and September-November. Under this plan, the government will increase it by Rs 3.21 per unit from now, Rs 0.69 from March-May and again by Rs 1.64 per unit from June to August 2023. Between September-November, the government will once again increase the electricity rates by Rs 1.98 per unit.

The government has also approved the abolition of Rs 65 billion power subsidy given to exporters from March 2023. It is believed that there will be a lot of pressure on Pakistani industries. But it is not that inflation is visible only on electricity. Along with electricity in Pakistan, the prices of other things are also skyrocketing. Milk prices in Pakistan have crossed Rs 210-230. If it is seen in Indian currency then it is 65 rupees per litre.
Chicken prices increased
Apart from milk, an increase in the prices of chicken is also being seen continuously. In the last two days, the price of chicken in Pakistan has increased by Rs 30-40 in a jiffy. Talking about the early months of February, the rate of chicken was 390-440 rupees per kg. Whereas, in January it was selling around Rs.380-420. But now chicken is being sold at Rs 700-780 per kg. A few days ago its price was Rs 620-650 per kg. Talking about boneless piece, it is being sold at Rs 1000-1100 per kg.
