Auckland : New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will resign from her post next month. She has announced that she will not participate in the general elections to be held this year. Speaking to reporters in Napier on Thursday, Ardern said February 7 would be her last day in the Prime Minister’s Office. Announcing her resignation, Jacinda became emotional and was seen in tears. She said that I am not leaving this post because it is very difficult. Had it been so, I would have left within two months.
Jacinda said, ‘I am leaving it because with such a privileged role comes responsibility. The responsibility of knowing when there is the right person to lead and when not. He said that I know what this job requires and I am not able to judge now. That’s all. Ardern became prime minister in a coalition government in 2017. She was about to face a tough election campaign last year but has now announced not to contest.
