Amidst the war with Hamas, Israel has intensified attacks in North Gaza. Since October 7, the army has killed about 60 Hamas leaders and commanders. According to sources, the Israeli army has isolated Hamas Chief Yahya Sinwar in his bunker in Gaza. He is completely cut off from the world outside the bunker.
On the 34th day of the Israel-Hamas war, the Israeli Army said that since the beginning of the ground operation, it has destroyed 130 tunnels so far. Twelve people linked to an Iran-backed group in Syria were killed in a US strike on the eastern city of Der Ezzor on Thursday, according to the Times of Israel. On the other hand, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that after the war, Gaza should be merged with the West Bank, so that the Palestinians can form a government here. Like in the West Bank, authority should be decided in Gaza by bringing together the Palestinians.
G7 countries said – Gaza should get help
Meanwhile, a meeting of foreign ministers of G7 countries was held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan on Tuesday. According to a report, in the statement issued after the meeting, these countries also avoided the word ceasefire. Instead, words like ‘pause for some time for humanity’ were used. On the other hand, the White House has once again advised Israel to avoid occupying Gaza. Before this, President Joe Biden and Foreign Minister Antony Blinken had said the same thing.
America said- occupying Gaza would be Israel’s mistake
In a statement issued by the White House, Israel has been advised to abandon its intention to occupy Gaza. However, this advice has not been given for the first time. Even before this, President Biden and Foreign Minister Blinken had been saying the same thing. However, the White House said – We do not think that re-occupying Gaza would be the right step for Israel. The meaning of this statement becomes important because Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had said twice on Tuesday that Israel can keep the entire security of Gaza with itself for a long time. White House said- We are continuously talking to Israel on this issue.
520 trucks have reached Gaza so far
According to a report quoting the International Red Cross, since the war broke out in Gaza, 520 trucks have reached Gaza City from the Rafah border. These contained relief material for the common people. However, it was not told whether fuel was sent to these trucks or not. US State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel said- The common people of Gaza are in dire need of help. According to our estimates, at least 100 trucks of relief material should be delivered there daily. However, Patel also did not mention fuel.
4 hours relief to the people of Gaza
On Wednesday, people of northern Gaza were given 4 hours to move to the southern part. The Israeli Army had announced this two hours in advance, so that people could prepare to leave. The Israeli Army said in a statement – This step was necessary for the people of Gaza. We want the safety of the common people. Therefore, time of four hours has been given. Till now this work has been done thrice. A report has claimed that Qatar is currently in talks with Israel and Hamas. Efforts are being made to stop the war for a day or two and during this time at least 15 hostages should be rescued. Apart from Qatar, America is also a part of this conversation. Meanwhile, the Israeli army has killed Muhsin Abu Zina, the commander who made weapons for Hamas.
Investigation into Hamas attack begins after a month
Hamas attacks on October 7 became the reason for this war. Now the Benjamin Netanyahu government, Israel Defense Force (IDF) and intelligence agencies (Mossad, Military Intelligence and Local Network) are going to investigate how Hamas was successful in carrying out such a major attack on October 7.
Meanwhile, Israeli newspaper ‘Jerusalem Post’ has published a report on the points of investigation. According to this, the first and foremost reason for the attack was the army’s belief that Hamas does not have the strength to carry out major attacks. That means she was a victim of overconfidence.
A commission will be formed to investigate
According to the report, the investigation may take some time or say a few months. An inquiry commission is going to be formed for this. Some information about the points that will be kept for investigation is coming to light. Some things have already been accepted by the army and intelligence agencies and there are some points which have not been mentioned on any platform yet.
In fact, the Israeli army felt that Hamas was weakening in Gaza and would avoid any major conflict. He was also in dispute with Islamic Jihad. In May 2021 also, Israeli forces carried out attacks in Gaza. He thought that he had caused tremendous damage to the Hamas tunnel network, however, this proved to be his misconception, because the tunnel network had not suffered any significant damage at that time.
Israel’s Operation ‘Swords of Iron’ against ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’
Hamas has named its operation against Israel ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’. In response, the Israeli army started ‘Swords of Iron’ operation against Hamas. Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif had said – This attack is revenge for Israel’s desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Actually, Israeli police had thrown grenades at Al-Aqsa Mosque in April 2023. At the same time, Hamas spokesperson Ghazi Hamad told Al Jazeera – This action is our answer to those Arab countries which are growing closer to Israel. In recent days, media reports had claimed that Saudi Arabia may recognize Israel as a country on America’s initiative.
Why is there dispute between Israel and Palestine?
This conflict has been going on in this area of the Middle East for at least 100 years. There is dispute over areas like West Bank, Gaza Strip and Golan Heights. Palestine claims these areas including East Jerusalem. At the same time, Israel is not ready to give up its claim on Jerusalem. Gaza Strip is between Israel and Egypt. This place is currently under the control of Hamas. This is an anti-Israel group. In September 2005, Israel withdrew its forces from the Gaza Strip. In 2007, Israel imposed several restrictions on this area. Palestine says that an independent Palestine state should be established in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
