In a sudden change in strategy, Israel intensified ground attacks against Palestine’s notorious terrorist organization Hamas. The Army is advancing rapidly with armored vehicles. Meanwhile, Israel’s intelligence agency Shin Bet has said that the Hamas terrorists hiding in Lebanon, Turkey and Qatar are also safe. Israel has warned citizens to immediately evacuate the city of Khan Yunis.
Leading newspaper The Times of Israel gave this information quoting Shin Bet, the intelligence agency responsible for internal security matters, and Israel Defense Forces (IDF). According to the newspaper, the IDF has intensified ground operations in southern Gaza. The IDF has vowed to free the hostages from Hamas capture. Meanwhile, two more IDF soldiers lost their lives in missiles fired at Israel from Lebanon.
The IDF has said that now not a single Hamas terrorist will be left alive in southern Gaza. IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi said that Hamas battalion commanders, company commanders and many of its operatives have been killed in this fighting.
According to The Times of Israel, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has discussed efforts to reduce tensions in this regard with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. On the other hand, amidst heavy bombardment, the IDF issued an order on Sunday that the areas around Khan Younis, Gaza’s second largest city, will have to be evacuated, because many senior Hamas commanders are hiding here. The IDF has said that more than 800 tunnels have been destroyed in the Gaza Strip. Weapons have been found inside these tunnels.
