Dr. Avinash Gupta, Head of the Cardiology Department and President-Elect of the Medical Staff at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC), New Jersey, was presented with a humanitarian honor by Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.

During the pandemic, Gupta’s team of 50 doctors and health workers administered anti-Covid vaccines to 3,500 Indian-Americans in Ocean County, New Jersey.
With Gupta as its president, MOCAAPI raised $150,000 in donations in 2021 to feed the people of Monmouth and Ocean County.
During the deadly second wave of Covid which proved to be dangerous for India, Gupta started tele-consultancy service and provided relief to the poor and needy.
According to the press release, Avinash Gupta along with wife Geeta Gupta treated 1,000 patients, which ultimately reduced the burden on hospitals. He raised USD 2,50,000 for relief work in India and helped Patna-based NGO ‘Aastha’ to open a 10-bed COVID care centre.
Gupta was honored at a Diwali program in New Jersey.
Originally from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, Gupta studied at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi. He also sent medicines and oxygen concentrators to India in coordination with other doctors.
During the pandemic, he mentored many Indian patients in the US who did not have medical insurance and were unable to go to hospital due to the lockdown.
According to a press release, while congratulating Dr Gupta for the honour, Consul General of India in New York, Randhir Jaiswal said that during the pandemic, not only in the US but also in India, the community has seen Dr Gupta’s commitment and his service to many. is inspirational.
According to the release, Deputy Consul General Dr Varun Jeff said that Gupta has selflessly served the people in his homeland of America and motherland India.
Jeff said that the contribution of Dr Gupta was significant during the pandemic, who not only provided online medical advice but also sent medicines and equipment to Jharkhand and Bihar.
