Indian Journalist in China: China has asked the Indian journalist to leave the country. China has taken these steps after India refused to grant visa to Chinese journalists. There is a journalist of the news agency Press Trust of India in China. He had applied for visa renewal, but China did not give approval. As if a tit-for-tat game is going on between India and China. Amidst the ongoing tension on the border, this move of China has ended each other’s media presence in both the countries.
Four journalists from Indian media outlets were reporting from China. Among them one journalist was from Hindustan Times, two from Prasar Bharati and one from The Hindu newspaper. In the month of April, China refused to renew his visa. The Chinese Foreign Ministry and the Indian Foreign Ministry did not comment on this. In 2020, India-China relations deteriorated after violent clashes in eastern Ladakh. Since then, both the countries have been face to face on many fronts.

Chinese journalists doing their work without any difficulty in India
India had said last month that Chinese journalists in India are doing their work without any difficulty. Despite this, Indian journalists have not been given such exemption in China. There was constant discussion on this issue in both the countries. According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning, till last month a Chinese journalist was in India, waiting for visa renewal. Earlier, India did not renew the visas of two journalists of Xinhua News Agency and China Central Television.
Indian journalists were hiring assistants
The visa controversy began when Indian journalists in China were hiring local assistants to help with reporting. China has made a rule that only three people can be given employment at a time. In this also only those people are there who should come from the pool prepared by the Chinese authorities only. There is no limit to recruitment in India.
